Svetlana Tsarukaeva – World Weightlifting Champion 2011!

At present, the 79th Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Championships are being held in Paris.

Svetlana Tsarukaeva presented a special gift to all Russian weightlifting fans on the third day of the competition. Competing in the 63 kg weight category, Svetlana set a new world record for snatch – 117 kg! The bitter fight for the “Gold” of the World Championship continued until the very end between the Russian weightlifter and Maya Mazena, a Kazakh athlete, and World Champion in 2009-2010. However, the Russian managed to seize the victory from her opponent with a total of 255 kg (117+138)!
